Coastal Homeware Hotspots

Welcome to our first Monthly Spotlight post! This week the Spotlight is on Benn + Penna Architecture and one of their recent projects, the Surry Hills House. These architects transformed a compact inner-city terrace in the highly sought after Surry Hills area in Sydney into a Scandinavian style modern property.

Significant alterations and additions were made including new bathrooms, new bedrooms, kitchen, courtyard and living space. We love the addition of the garden spaces at either end of the property.

The main feature of the terrace is the delicately detailed steel staircase that rises through the middle of the building and drops natural light from a large skylight above into the centre of the house.

The clean lines, neutral colour palette and natural timber features add to the beautiful design of this home. All executed in perfect Scandic-Style!

Construction: Timber & steel structure, rendered brick walls, oak joinery and flooring, Dekton kitchen benchtop & splashback, oxidized white aluminium framed doors and windows.
